Meet Your Bodywork Specialist

In 2014, Jan VandeHoven opened Advanced Integrated Bodyworks with a goal to help educate and help others live active, pain-free lives by utilizing the healing benefits of massage therapy. Jan, a Chico local , worked as a certified medical assistant for 17 years. During that time Jan saw the many types of pains that people suffer from and how different therapies could treat the pain. It wouldn't be until after she had her own personal pain experience that this training as a certified medical assistant would craft her future. 
After experiencing intensive pain that resulted to significant loss in range of motion in her shoulder, Jan decided to go with massage therapy as her pain treatment. She was determined to find a resolution as her injury had great impact in every aspect of her daily life including work, driving, workouts and even her sleep. There was noticeable increase in the range of motion and decrease in pain after her first treatment session was done. Several treatments after, her shoulder fully recovered and the end results were worth the effort. Aside from her recovery, other body issues were also identified in the early stage and they were addressed immediately bringing a better sense of body and self-awareness in every visit.
Working thru this process inspired Jan to change careers and pursue massage therapy as a full time job. Locally trained, Jan graduated in 2014 with as a certified massage practitioner. As a licensed MBLEx massage practitioner Jan is certified by the State of California as a massage therapist. Jan continues to focus on this growth and most recently became a certified level 2 therapist in fascial stretch therapy while at the same time continuing her education in deep tissue massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, lymphatic massage, soft tissue release, cupping and muscle energy techniques. Her calm demeanor and intuitive touch make Jan one of the most sought after massage therapist in the area. Regular bodywork by a trained knowledgeable therapist is a must to be able to live up to your fullest potential.

Jan Is a Level 3 Certified Fascial Stretch Therapist

A Level 3 Certified Medical Fascial Stretch Therapist is the highest rating in Fascial Stretch Therapy. This entails more than 40 hours of training for each level. She is able to access and get to the core problems you may be facing....treating the body as a whole entity as opposed to individual 'pieces'.

Jan lives a very active life locally here in Chico spending time with her daughter Maddisyn, mini dachshund Sophie and her most recent "rescue" partner Hazy who is always available at the office to say hello. Taking care of herself and helping others is a passion. Jan recommends others take advantage of the great hiking, running, bicycling and outdoor activities in the Chico area as she does. Jan reminds those around here that healthy mind and body will lead to a healthy soul.
